Following an exciting night at the awards last Friday 23rd February, we’re excited to announce we’ve risen to number 43 in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list 2018.
We rose up the list in the annual rankings of the best of Britain’s employers, achieving a Star accreditation, a year after joining the list for the first time. Each Peach Pub will be celebrating this Friday 2nd March to mark the achievement, with guests and our teams raising a glass to toast our success.
Now in its 18th year, The Sunday Times Top 100 is an annual survey and ranking of the best of the country’s employers. Each company undergoes a rigorous examination of its approach to training, wellbeing, leadership and employee satisfaction, with our employees giving honest feedback on their employers in an anonymous team survey.
The resulting list reflects some of the best, most forward-thinking employers who strive to motivate, challenge and reward their people.
“Last year, when we were recognised as being one of the best places to work in the UK in perhaps the most important list in the country, it felt like a dream come true. This year, when we were again ranked against some of the best businesses in the UK, to see Peach move higher up that list is just fantastic.
“We are genuinely getting better as a company to work for, and in the year since we first earned this recognition, we have really concentrated on the areas we needed to improve the lives of our team.
“Our purpose is to Make Life Peachy, for our guests and our suppliers and especially for our people. We concentrate on that mission every day for our team. Our goal is to be permanently in the top ten Sunday Times list, and to get there within the next three years,” MD, Hamish Stoddart says.
We began in 2002, when we opened The Rose & Crown in Warwick, believing every town deserves a great pub. Well-kept beer, a quality steak cooked by a proper chef and a glass of decent wine is a recipe for happiness, and the company works hard to make its team feel just as much at home as its guests.
In Oxfordshire, our teams work at The Fishes at North Hinksey, Oxford; The Fleece in Witney; The Thatch and The James Figg in Thame and The Bear & Ragged Staff in Cumnor, the latest addition to the Peach fold which is reopening on 9th March after being refurbished.
In Warwickshire, you can visit The Star & Garter in Leamington; The One Elm in Stratford-upon-Avon; The Almanack in Kenilworth and The Rose & Crown in Warwick.
We are an independently-owned group of really great pubs, in market towns and villages across the heart of England. Find them all here.
