We’re supplier proud to serve fresh fruit and veg from the only remaining national family-run greengrocer Reynolds.
So who are Reynolds
In 1945, William Reynolds set up a fruit and veg stall at the Ridley Road Market in Hackney, London. William’s ambition was to supply his customers with the very best fresh produce, an ambition that is lived today through William’s grandson, Tony, and his great-grandsons Tom and Nick. Following a growing success in supplying fruit and veg to restaurants in London, Reynolds was transformed into a distribution business. This allows us to access their superb fresh fruit and veg in all of our pubs.
Reynolds work with other family run and ethical business, such as Cobrey Farms who supply our seasonal asparagus, and Blackdown growers who ethically grow baby leaves and herbs in the UK all year round.
About Blackdown Growers
Peach understand the importance of letting our crops grow naturally and organically, but also love for our Chef’s to be able to use delicious fruit and veg in their dishes all year round! Blackdown Growers (specialists in baby leaves and herbs) allow us to do this through their expert and innovative growing techniques that have developed over the years. They now have five growing sites across Warwickshire, Norfolk and Evesham, which are set up to grow crops both outdoors and in glasshouses so that they can guarantee UK crops all year round.
Like us, Blackdown Growers are big on protecting our environment and working sustainably. They are fully accredited by BRC, Red Tractor, Tesco Nurture and Field to Fork. They are also a LEAF marque grower and are committed to producing food in a sustainable way, without impacting the environment. All materials within the Blackdown Group are either recycled or re-used.
About Cobrey Farms
At Peach we love to use seasonal ingredients in our dishes, and towards the end of April we challenge our chefs to work with seasonal Wye Valley asparagus which Reynolds supplies for us. Believe it or not, Reynolds have their very own asparagus growing specialists! They work with Cobrey Farms and use innovative growing techniques to ensure the asparagus we get is nothing but the best.
Cobrey Farms, also a family run business, see themselves as custodians of the land that they farm and work hard to maintain and improve the environment for future generations. They use composted green waste to improve fertility in their fields and uses collected rainwater from the local reservoir for summer irrigation. They have also created grassed waterways in their sloping fields to combat soil erosion and plants trees and hedges to create additional habitats for wildlife. Therefore, we will be able to enjoy their delicious asparagus for years to come!
Pop into your nearest pub and try out our fresh and naturally-grown fruit and veg through one of our dishes. Trust us, you can really taste the difference!
