As a group, we focus a lot on helping the community, both here at home, and overseas with The Peach Foundation. This is why for over six years, the only bottled water we have sold in our pubs has been BELU. BELU gives 100% of its profits to WaterAid, with the aim that everyone, everywhere should have access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, by 2030.
BELU is not just a nonprofit organisation, but the most ethical bottled mineral water available, and completely carbon neutral. All bottles are made from as much recycled glass and plastic as physically possible, and they are constantly pushing the boundaries of technology to improve this.
This Thursday 22nd March sees World Water Day. A campaign focused on raising the awareness of clean water, for all of the 600 million people that still don’t have access to it. We are incredibly proud to say that since we started working in partnership with BELU, we have transformed an incredible 921 lives with safe water. This is based on the statistic that £15 can help provide one person with access to a sustainable supply of safe water (WASHCost and WaterAid, 2014). Having already raised over £2,200,076 for WaterAid, they seem to be unstoppable.
We will be doing our bit for #WorldWaterDay by raising awareness of why we stock BELU in our pubs. The WaterAid led campaign encourages people around the world to raise awareness of the water crisis through social media and other awareness activity.
So thank you. Thank you for choosing BELU in our pubs, and helping us change 921 precious lives. With BELU, we’re looking forward to help change many more in the years to come.
