We’ve only gone and done it again! Last week we won ‘Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ for the fifth year in a row! What an amazing achievement!
A few of us went up to London to the awards ceremony after lots of us voted in these annual awards which single out the very best people businesses in our industry. Could we be named a winner once again, for the fifth year running?
Well, the answer was a resounding yes! And it’s thanks to the amazing people who work at Peach which meant we came away with the trophy once again. We’ve now got a very shiny Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2015 – Winner of Pubs & Bars – pride of place alongside the others in our trophy cabinet.
These awards are run every year by Caterer.com and single out the businesses in the UK hospitality industry that do the most to train, motivate and develop their people – the businesses that really put their people first in other words. What’s really special about these awards is that the winners are selected simply on the views of the people who work at the businesses who’ve entered, showing which companies really go the extra mile to look after their people.
This is a really big thing to win in our industry and winning once is fantastic, but to be named a winner five years on the trot is simply awesome. See what some of the press are saying here in Beds on Sunday.
We run wonderful pubs and they’re full of brilliant people. We know that people are central to our success and set great store by looking after them and giving them the best training so they stay and grow with us.
We also invest a lot in their training with dedicated programmes such as our Peach Pathway which we’ve developed especially to help the people who work in our kitchens, in our eateries and behind our bars develop from when they first join us all the way to being a partner with us in the business. We now have six partners who have done just this – with Ben, Jordan and Trevor our newest partners – who have used our training to become stake-holders in Peach and win awards of their own. It was certainly having dedicated training such as this that gave us the edge in these awards.
As was giving our people great skills, whatever they do in the business, we believe great food and service comes from having great hosts in our pubs and great cooks in our kitchens, so we make a point of investing in them to give them the skills they need.
