A special evening with Daniel Acevedo of Mildreds

If you’re vegetarian, a vegan or just love food, don’t miss a fantastic feast at The High Field Studio this month. For one night only, Tuesday 23rd October, executive chef and author Daniel Acevedo from London’s Mildreds will be teaming up with The High Field Head Chef Ian Meek to create a fabulous vegan tasting menu that will blow your taste buds away.

Bringing fresh, inspiring dishes from a variety of culinary styles and cuisines from around the world, Mildreds is now a three-strong family of restaurants across London – Kings Cross, Camden and Dalston.

Serving the veggie massive for more than a quarter of a century, Mildreds has become synonymous with good value, fresh and colourful international vegetarian food.

Now some of their favourite plant-based dishes will be available at a very special take on The High Field’s popular weekly veggie night, Live Life on the Veg, with a mouth-watering tasting menu of mostly vegan and gluten-free options. Sarah Robinson, general manager of The High Field Studio and The High Field takes up the story.

“We’ve really seen a spike in interest in a more plant-based diet in the last year, with more and more guests opting for veggie and vegan dishes, so much so we’ve dedicated every Tuesday night at our pub The High Field to them and put a good choice of dishes on our menu, rather than just one or two, to tempt any non-meat eaters,” she says.

“People are loving it and voting with their knives and forks.  We also really love what our friends from Mildreds have done with veggie and vegan cooking and have been sending our chefs to work with them in London to be inspired by what they do and bring back more new ideas for our menus.

“Now, we’re really excited to host Mildreds’ executive chef and author Daniel Acevedo in The Studio to work alongside head chef Ian Meek and create a superb tasting menu of free-from dishes on a unique evening of Asian-inspired cuisine,” she says.

Between them, the pair will be cooking dishes including Tempura Vegetables, Mango & Black Rice Noodle Salad, Bao Buns, Mock Chicken Katsu Curry and Black Coconut Ice Cream, as well as a few surprises on the night.

“Mildreds is the destination for internationally inspired vegetarian food and we’re honoured to have Daniel cooking with us next month,” adds Sarah. “Join us, even if you’re one of the most carnivorous out there – we promise you’ll be amazed.”
