The Telegraph Reviews The Bear & Ragged Staff - Peach Pubs

The Telegraph Reviews The Bear & Ragged Staff

“Take the opportunity to escape the bustle of Oxford with a stay at this comfortable pub in a village on the outskirts of town. The building dates back to the 16th century, but today it is run by foodie-centric pub group Peach Pubs.” Caroline Mills, Travel Writer.

Recently Caroline Mill, a travel writer for the Telegraph, came to visit us at The Bear & Ragged Staff. We love having people in to review us and with an overall score of 8/10 we couldn’t be prouder of the newest pub with rooms to join the fold.

Based in Cumnor, The Bear & Ragged Staff is less than a mile away from the Thames Path National Trail and Farmoor Reservoir (with sailing and water sports activities), and the popular Aston Pottery and Oxfordshire Cotswolds are within five miles. Lots of activities if you’re planning a Summer staycation.

We have nine ensuite rooms, five of which are on the first floor of the original building. All varying in size and character, these five period rooms, retain traditional features. Four other rooms, situated in converted cottages adjoining the pub, are more modern in appearance, and are accessed via an external wooden staircase. Rooms five and six interconnect and we also have a family suite. Why not take advantage of our pay now stay later offer to save 15% on a stay with the family?

If you’re planning a day trip, join us for breakfast, lunch or dinner. With an All Day, Fixed Price and Main Menu as well as a daily changing specials board, there is plenty to suit everyone round the table.
