Birmingham, Bedford, Warwick, Witney or Cranleigh – a stay with us in one of our lovely rooms is the perfect plan for the Easter weekend. All in great locations, our rooms come with the added bonus of having a pub just downstairs.
Whether it’s a weekend away for the two, or a mini break for the family, here’s our round up of things to do this Easter.
Birmingham has plenty to keep you busy for the weekend, and less than 20 miles away, West Midlands Safari Park is the perfect day trip out for your little eggs–plorers. Find the Easter bunny and follow the trail of gigantic Easter eggs around the park. Plus Easter activities, shows and competitions – you won’t be bored!
If Easter eggs aren’t in your basket, there’s grown up fun too. Visit one of the city’s comedy clubs for a night of giggles, or book dinner at one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants. There’s always a gig or two on in town too, or make the most of your stay and pop to The High Field for an early supper and spend the night soaking in a roll-top bath. Bliss.
Our recently refurbished rooms at The Embankment ensure a pleasant stay if visiting Bedford for the weekend. For thrill seekers, The Festival of Power at Santa Pod Raceway will make Easter one to remember. Less than 20 miles from the pub, the action-packed line up of family drag racing, stunts, exhibition demonstrations and family entertainment will keep everyone entertained!
If a more relaxed weekend away is what you’re looking for, get your shopping shoes on and take the short drive to Milton Keynes or jump on a train and be in London in under 40 minutes. If the sun shines, a walk down the Embankment makes for a lovely afternoon, before heading back to the pub for a well earnt drink, or two.
The pretty market town of Warwick makes for a great base for exploring Warwickshire and whilst the pub dates back to the 17th century, our thirteen en-suite rooms are beautifully comfortable and modern. For the budding artists, join monster maker Emma O’Brien before and after the Monstersaurus show at The Warwick Arts Centre and create your very own monster friend. There’s always plenty going on at the Castle too, or while your days away in the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon.
12 miles west of Oxford, Witney is perfectly located for a leisure break in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. Our pub, The Fleece, overlooks the beautiful green, and has twice been voted one of the top twenty pubs in the UK. Serving fresh food all day, from free-range eggs and sourdough in the mornings to Aubrey Allen 28-day dry aged steaks from noon, our seasonal menu offers plenty of choice.
Cogges makes for a great day out, and has over 15 acres of beautiful grounds and farmyard to explore. Over the Easter weekend there’ll be ‘meet the animal’ sessions, Easter trails and Nick Cope will be performing on Good Friday.
Sitting right on the High Street in Cranleigh, The Richard Onslow is a busy pub with great food, 10
beautiful bedrooms and is conveniently located near to Guildford. The Great Easter Egg Hunt starts on Good Friday at 10:30am sharp at The Cranleigh Showground. Hundreds of energetic and enthusiastic egg hunters head off to the woods, where a number of eggs have been hidden.
If you can’t make it down for the main egg hunt, there’s plenty more going on. Search for Easter treats in the mystical follies and enchanted woodlands of Painshill or hop through RHS Garden Wisley on the trail of the Lindt Gold Bunny. There’s also a Cadbury Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at Hatchlands Park, or join Peter Rabbit on a botanical bunny adventure through Kew gardens.
Peach is a collection of really great pubs, serving good quality, fresh, honest food and drink in relaxed, welcoming surroundings. Our pubs are full of character, and each one is different but Peachy in its own way. We hope you enjoy your visit.
