Hooky from Hook Norton Brewery is our new cask ale. This multi-award winning bitter is golden, hoppy and malty – a classic clear, bright and quaffable beer. Only last year, it took Gold in the International Brewing Awards.
Hook Norton’s ales are made with traditional quality ingredients and, like us, source locally where possible. Most of their barley and hops are grown in Britain and each year the farms are visited to check quality. Using an age-old system, all the hops are traceable by variety, crop year, farmer, field and date of harvest.
The beer is still hand-crafted in their Victorian tower brewery, with the yeast gently stirred and nurtured. The mash is also skimmed by hand. Each cask is carefully inspected before filling. Their brewery tours are a popular Cotswold day out, or you can watch the brewers in action here.
Hook Norton are a proudly independent brewery, one of only 32 family-owned breweries remaining in the country. We’re delighted to have their barrels rolling into our cellars and we hope you will be too.
